FINALLY FREED

I did not allow myself to look back. I stared forward as though I would be struck with lightning if I turned around to see him smiling.

There were three main roads that lead out of town. My Mexican friends had told me which one to take. As I drove up and over the climb of the road and around the bend, the town fell out of sight.

That is when I looked in the rear-view mirror.

There was no one for many miles away. No one could hear me, and no one could see me. No one could feel me. No one knew me. No one could find me if something were to happen to me.

He did not have the power to make me dissolve. Through all the physical abuse and the continuously scornful insults and humiliations, my own strength still protected me. God still protected me.

But the one who endures to the end, shall be saved.”

Matthew 24:13
